Time isn't wasted. On the contrary. You make the most of it, and enjoy every minute of it. The word "late", is rarely used.
Not everyone can adjust to it. But if you find yourself living on "island time", you'll have a better understanding of "less is more". The less you try to fit into one day, the more likely you are to remember what you did. The downside to living on "island time", is sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. I'm anxious to share more of my "Island Life", in the coming year. But in order to share more, I'm going to write less. Sometimes, pictures will be all that's needed, for you to enjoy St. George Island, and all the fun, and beauty that surrounds it.
Ospreys and eagles were plentiful this year, on and around the island |
A juvenile bald eagle landed in a pine tree, right in the back yard! |
Kayaking on the creeks and rivers, in the area, offers an endless amount of beauty. |
Gadson Creek |
We didn't break any records, but the first annual paddle jam was a huge success. |
The monarch migration didn't seem as plentiful, as in past years. But, they still made a stop on the island, on their way to Mexico. |
It's always fun, seeing a new critter, that you don't see up north. And this was certainly a new one on me!! |
It was speculated that an early cold snap may have been the reason, thousands of jellyfish washed up on the bay side of the island. It was not a pretty sight. |
It just doesn't seem natural to see icicles on the island. But last winter, even the island had record low temperatures. |
A good time was had by all at the Mardi Gras parade last year! |
There are no words to describe the beauty of the eclipse we had last year. |
The sun sets on another year. And this is just skimming the surface, of the fun and beauty that surrounds you, when you live the "Island Life". To all that follow this blog, may the New Year bring you as much joy, as St. George Island, brings to me.
Jo, you've done a fabulous job of capturing the magnificent beauty of St George Island. I look forward to seeing more in 2015!
ReplyDeleteI second that Jo! Love your blog. Keep up the good work. Love you! Carol (from the cold and blustery north!)
